January 2nd is the Rose Bowl Game - January 6th is Three Kings Day January 12th is Secret Pal Day-January 18th is Winnie the Pooh Day (A.A. Milne's Birthday) January 24th is National Compliment Day-January 31st is Inspire Your Heart with the Arts Day.

Personally, I never need a reason to stamp, but these are interesting national events that can inspire us to be creative. We all need time to relax and let our creative juices flow. So, if it's cold outside( it actually is here today High of 44, however it will be back to 70 by Saturday)and you have some free time, make some cards for a secret pal for Secret Pal Day, or get busy making Thank you cards for all the people that service you throughout the month. Well, today is the last day of 2011. I hope it has been a blessed year for you. God has been with us through some really great times this year and through some difficult ones as well, but in the end God is Good all the time! We have been blessed and are thankful. I thought I'd share a favorite recipe of the holiday season with you today. We love these Graham Cracker Pecan cookies. I only make them at Christmas because the are very rich. Pecans just scream Christmas to me!! OK here is the recipe: 1 1/2 pkg of graham crackers, 1 stick of butter and 1 stick of margarine, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 to 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans. Layer the graham crackers on a jelly roll pan. In a sauce pan add the butter and sugar and bring to a good boil. Boil for 5 minutes or until golden brown. Pour over graham crackers and spread evenly, Sprinkle pecan pieces on top. Bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes. Break apart and cool on wire rack. So easy and so good!!!! Enjoy. Like it's some big surprise, December 25th comes around every year and I'm never even close to ready. Of course when you do the most of your shopping on the 22nd should you really be surprised? I love to make cards of course, bake, attend Christmas events at church and in the community, but I have realized I love to do all these things with company! It is most meaningful to me to stamp with my stamping sisters and bake with friends or family members. So thank you to those who took the time to give me your gift of friendship and time. It was most appreciated! I have a couple Christmas ideas I want to show yall. I made these little tags for the goody bags for Cadie's preschool class. They turned out really cute IMHO! The reindeer are made with the stocking punch #124095 and the antlers are one of the snowflake sizzlets. Most of the noses were just punch with a hole punch and covered with Crystal Effects. The angels for the girls were made with the Pennant punch, the Butterfly punch and 3/4 circle punch. The butterfly angel wings were run through the Big Shot with the Elegant Lines embossing folder for texture. These were really fun to make. I layered them on a scalloped circle so they could be hung on the tree as an ornament. Well, that's it for today. Keep it Blue

Not a great picture, but a cute card. I made this card for a stamp a stack of simple cards. The card stock is Night of Navy and Whisper White. The Whisper White piece is run through the Big shot with the Polka dot textured plate. The stocking is stamped with Night of Navy ink using a stamp from the Stitched Stockings stamp set in the Holiday mini and punched out with the stocking punch. Can you see the 2 mini jingle bells tied on the corner with Cherry Cobbler and white bakers twine( love this stuff)? There is a rhinestone jewel in the center for some added bling. Christmas in Blue

I know Red and Green are traditionally Christmas colors, however I love Blue. It has been one of my favorite colors for years, All shades from Navy to Baby! Almost very year I make my Christmas Cards in blue. I haven't decided for sure this year ,but I have a couple of samples that might just be this years card. The card uses the Sounding Joy stamp set from the Holiday Mini. LOve LOVe LOVE this stamp set. I like to do cards that reflect the true meaning of Christmas for Tombo and I. "For God so love the whole world, He sent His only Begotten son..."This is a real reason to celebrate! So give me your vote, should this be this years card? Cardstock is Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, and Whispher White. Ink is Bashful Blue and Night of Navy also. The Marriage of Two Recipes

Good morning. This is not a stamping post today. My other love is cooking. I have loved to cook since I was very young. I even entered the Autauga County Fair with I was 13 or 14 and won first place for a sour creme surprise pound cake! I also won prizes for my biscuits and cornbread muffins. Of course, this is not a big surprise as my Nana and mother were both excellent cooks and bakers. My mother still is, but Nana is probably cooking up a storm in heaven. Well, recently I need to make something with left over Turkey. I am a big Pampered Chef fan and used to sell Pampered Chef cooking tools, so I thought of the Turkey Cranberry ring that was very popular several years ago. Unfortunately I didn't have most of the ingredients. I did have turkey, mayo, celery, and cranberries. One of the most important ingredients in a ring is the crescent rolls, didn't have these. What to do?Well, I had biscuits- an idea is brewing. Criss-cross apple crowns use biscuits!!! So I substitute biscuits for the crescent rolls, then I substituted Parmesan cheese for Swiss, pecans for walnuts and honey mustard for Dijon!! I rolled out the biscuits and put a large scoop of turkey mixture in the center and pinched the bottom together placing them in a stone muffin pan. I have to say, it worked great and they came out delicious. We had individual turkey cranberry stuffed bundles! They were great that night for dinner and the next day for lunch! Sometimes thinking outside the box can be a good thing. Substitution can produce a great new recipe, however, I don't suggest using frosted flakes in place of corn flakes on top of a hash brown casserole-that's a story for another day! Well, it's 18 days til Christmas, are you ready? For those of you who know me, I'm months behind!!!! I still have Halloween projects I wanted to share! And we won't even talk about how many Christmas cards I still need to make. We attended our first Christmas party of the season Sunday at the home of Mike and Diane, sweet friends from our Sunday School Class. It was a blast. We played Dirty Santa. Here is a picture of the lunch bag I stamped to conceal the silly reindeer tie Tommy took for his gift. It's a regular ole lunch bag, stamped with a pine branch and tied with Old Olive 1 1/4 inch striped ribbon. The reindeer tag is made with the Big Shot two tags die,the stitched stocking punch and one of the snowflake sizzlets. I love making different projects from punches. Of course I did not come up with the idea, but I'm great at copying!!!!There is a small bag of nuts attached to the bottom of this tag with a reindeer droppings poem on the back. Just an example of a quick and easy way to wrap up a gift that's really quite adorable! Need to get back to the worktable. Have a really blessed day and go be a blessing to someone else. Much love.

Don't faint! I am actually doing 2 post in 2 days. Starting New Year commitments early. I want to share another Fall-inspired card with you today. Well, another month has come and gone. I just stay behind...way behind. Anyway, it has been a busy month, Tommy had a birthday as did I, started a new hostess club (yay!!), and a whole host of other events taking place weekly. Birthday Cards

I'm working on Birthday cards for my card keeper, so tonight I am hostessing a Stamp-a-stack making birthday cards. We are doing a masculine card, one that could be for a younger person, and a flowery more girly card. Then, as a special project we are doing a really cute candy wrapper favor. Here is the Masculine card. It is made on a Whisper White card base with a layer of DSP Nautical Expedition, and a scallop circle from the Scallop circle 2 Big Shot Die. The Ship is from the Open Sea stamp set and stamped in Not Quite Navy and punched out with the 2 1/2 circle punch. The birthday greeting is from Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess set. This birthday wish is punched out with the scallop circle punch. Quick and simple card. Well, that's if for today. Gotta run....Be blessed by being a blessing to those around you today.

Summer is almost gone!

It's hard to believe summer is almost over. We will still have hot days here in Dixie, the dog days of summer, they call them. However, school is starting this next week and most summer activities are winding down. I have had a busy summer, this is why you haven't heard a lot from me. I have been keeping all the grands- Kelli 9, Cadie 4 and Cooper 4 mos. It has been a fun, but very tiring summer for me. I have also been working on building a Stamping In Dixie facebook page. I am still learning about all this social media and how to connect this to that and so on... It really is amazing what can be done on the computer these days. I feel really old! In honor of the spiritual significance of this day, I'd like to share with you a card I cased from several people online. I love this card and the idea of making the cross from the lattice big shot die. I enjoy it when I can use a item for other things than it was maybe intended. The cross is cut from the lattice die and adhered to a piece of Whisper White. Then I sponged several colors all over the background, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard and a little Cherry Cobbler. The colors don't show up very well in the picture. After sponging it I ran the background through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder. I actually used the wrong side of that folder in order to get the little crosses instead of the square lattice. Happy Easter is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I hope you enjoy this card, but I really pray you and your family have a very blessed Easter Celebration today, because as the 1st century Christians said many years ago " He is Risen- He is Risen indeed!" 5 Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He isn’t here! Good Morning Good Friday! I'm on a roll! It's been a busy week, but God is good all the time and all the time God is good. That is a quote from a dear friend Ruth Stauffer, who lost her battle with cancer last yr. but is rejoicing in Heaven with her Risen Savior!

I have an Easter card to share today using the stamp set a Flower for all Seasons. This is a cute little set that is very versatile. The DSP is from the Vintage Springtime collection in the Occasions mini. Just a sweet card, IMHO! Well, that's it for today. Hope you have a really great day. Easter Flowers

Good Morning Stamper Friends. I hope yall are having a great week. As I promised, I have another Easter Candy treat project to share with yall today. This could easily be used for any spring event like Mother's Day, a ladies tea, or as decorations for the end of the year events at school or church. Isn't this cute? The 2 large flowers where cut with the Flower Folds Big Shot die and the smaller one in front is made with the extra large scallop circle punch. I also used that punch with the large circle punch to make the scallop around the center treat cup. I stamped Happy Easter on Whisper White CS, then layered that on Pear Pizazz to resemble a leaf. The little pails came from a discount store, I just stuck in a little Styrofoam and Easter grass (I hate that stuff, gets everywhere) However, makes a really cute table favor or small centerpiece. Easter week

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Like Christmas the True meaning gets lost in the bunnies and dyed eggs at times, but it's just a lot of fun. Cadie has been hiding Easter eggs for a good week now. I have a couple of Easter treats to share with you, but you only get one today, so keep coming back so you don't miss the next one. This cute little carrot is so simple! I simply cut the large scalloped circle using the big shot and ran it through the polka dot embossing folder, then rolled it into a cone. Next, I added the three Pear Pizazz "leaves" cut out with the scalloped oval punch. I did dust them with Pear Pizazz ink around the edges to give it some definition. I love the little Reese bunnies I found to go in them. He is just perfect except, like many of us, his hips are a little big. One of my hostess club members suggested we bite off his hips and wrap him back up! Good idea, Maybe not! Won't these be cute in an Easter Basket. I 'll have another one tomorrow so don't miss it. My friend, Beve, is having a birthday Sunday! How cool is it to have your birthday on Easter! In honor of this, her birthday and Easter, I wanted to share something.... Chocolate!! Isn't this the cutest little treat holder? I learned to make this folded cup in Girl scouts a million years ago. Well, maybe only 40 yrs ago, but it was a long time. This one is made out of our Springtime Vintage DSP, which is still available through the end of this month. I love this Eat Chocolate stamp set which is also in the Occasions Mini cattie. This saying says it all! That's my kind of friend.

I'd like to give Meg, one of my newest followers, a big southern Welcome to Stamping in Dixie. Meg visited me last week as part of my friend, Karen's, 2nd blog birthday celebration. She was sending folks all over the country for what else but BLOG CANDY! Meg just happened to win the gift set of note cards that I made for this event. Congratulations and I hope you like(love) them, Meg. The pictures I posted really didn't do them justice. Now for new business. This is a busy week. Thank the Lord, Tombo, finished our taxes at 11:47 last night! Yhew, just under the wire again. Our 29th anniversary is coming up next month and I think, maybe, we have mailed our taxes in before the last day-4 or 5 times. Maybe! We always promise to do better next year. (In his defense, he did do four or five returns before ours.) I have a birthday card to share with yall today. We made this card at my March workshop. A dear friend is having a birthday next weekend, is this your card? Maybe! The stamp set is from the saleabration promotion, which sadly is over and never to be seen again. The stamp set not saleabration! Anyway, I love the colors Elegant Eggplant and Always Artichoke. Very rich looking. I also used the framed tulip embossing folder(love it), seam binding, and pearl embellishments. The stamping technique is masking. Color!

I love color! Most people who know me might laugh at this statement since 90% of my clothing is black, which is one of my favorite colors. I love red and blue and purple, I have even learned to love green which is amazing, after a bad childhood experience with a green and gold bedroom, I didn't think I'd ever like the color green. Now, Old Olive is one of my favs and I even painted my living room Olivine!!! All this brings me to one of my favorite things about Stampin' Up! The fact I can purchase ink, paper, markers, crayons, chalks and other embellishments like ribbon and stuff all in the same color and coordinating colors makes designing cards and scrapbook pages a breeze. I also love how companies name colors- we have Real Red, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie to name a few...One of my favorites lately is Rich Razzleberry. It just makes a great transition from Winter to Spring. The cards I have to show today, I made for a friend of mine Karen. She has a blog My Points in Time. It is really fun to read, she is an budding author and has a different perspective on life in general. She is doing blog candy this week to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of her blog, so hop over there and take a look, leave a comment, sign up to follow her blog or mine or both and get extra entries. The purse is very simple and made out of one piece of cardstock. The cards are similar to a one sheet wonder were I just used pieces of DSP to embellish each card. I think yall will like this set. Hello Stampers! It is hot here in Dixieland today! I mean HOT already!!!! I'm not ready for summer. Well, what do you think of this card and why did I call this post a Happy card? The base is made from basic black cardstock,the second layer is 4x5.25 DSP from the Newsprint pack(love this paper). I used the bird punch, 1.25 wide black striped grosgrain with a very vanilla brad. I used the modern label punch and window punch for the sentiment. However, the actually stamp is retired. The reason I called this a Happy card is that I made it for my step dad. We call him Happy! He is very involved with the community chorus in our small city and often needs thank you notes for various reasons. This card was perfect for him and one of the reasons I love stamping cards. You have the ability to make them perfect for the giver or the receiver or both! One fish, two fish....

My friend Cindy's little boy turned 1 March 1st. He had a great Dr. Suess birthday party, so I decided to make him a One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish card. I love it!!! It's a tri-fold card that will stand up when opened. Can you guess what punch I used for the fish? If you guessed the ornament punch, you are correct This was a fun card to make. Hey Yall! How is everybody? I am okay! My friend Beve called this week and said, " Haven't seen your name in the obits, what's up?" another friend called tonight to see if I was still around, so I guess it is safe to say I've been out of the loop lately. Well, here is one of the reasons for the lost of contact with the outside world, I am the proud CeCe (Nana) of a precious little boy. Cooper was born February 11th. He went with his parents, big sister , Great grandmother, Cece and Chief to Orlando last month for several days and then, I started keeping him March 28th when Mommy had to go back to work. In this picture He is giving you his Daddy's Boy look!

I did have a great trip to Orlando. Stampin' Up! hosted an all-day regional seminar for consultants and guest, Saturday, March 26th. It was great. Saw some amazing demonstrations from sister demonstrators, did make and takes, and of course shared swaps!

I have a ton of ideas to share with yall, so please come back tomorrow and I'll have some cards and other ideas posted for yall. For now, blessings to all and to all a good night!

Hey folks, Happy New Year! I hope 2010 was a great year for you and God has even more blessings for you in 2011! We ended the year with some stressful situations, but as always God is good and we are learning to -Give thanks in ALL things! This is scriptural and not easy! However, it is one of my goals for this year, to not only be thankful for the easy blessings, but to truly be thankful for the trying times that make me sit up and take notice. Those times that rub off some of the rough spots can be real blessings over the long haul. Another goal this year is to really let you know how much I enjoy what I do and to be intentional about customer care. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you that I am overlooking. I am still reading and trying to learn more about blogging and design. I am working on a new banner and other stuff, so bear with me and hopefully before long this page will look fabulous! Going away is alot of fun and Tombo and I had a great time in Sunny California! Well, it wasn't so sunny the last few days, but we still had an awesome time. I am a little on the worn-out side, but glad to be home and now gettin' ready for this weeks Candy Wrapper Class. Yesterday was the last day to rsvp, but if you send me an email or call tomorrow I can still fit you in since I haven't cut all the projects we will be making yet.

This is not one of the projects we will be making. I actually attended a class Meagan Jones, one of my downline daughters taught before I left on my trip. It was a great class. This is one of the cute Halloween Projects we made. The box is simple construction two piece box that we rolled with the fence jumbo wheel. Then we cut out pumpkins with the Big Shot Sizzlits, used glue dots to adhere them to Tootie Pops, stuck them in floral foam and covered the top with moss from craft store. Isn't that the cutest. It is on my mantle as I write this. If you'd like to make one let me know and I'll give you directions and a product list. For now it is time for bed. Sweetest Day

Did you know today is Sweetest Day? Sweetest Day is celebrated the third Saturday in October. Here is a day dedicated just for your sweetie. It exists as an opportunity for you to recognize that sweet and special someone. It doesn’t matter who that person is, or what their relation to you. They just have to be "sweet" in order to get a little recognition.

Herbert Birch Kingston, a Cleveland, Ohio philanthropist and candy company employee started Sweetest Day. He wanted to bring happiness to orphans, shut-ins and under-privileged. His intent was to show these people that they were not forgotten. In 1922, he started this holiday by giving candy and small gifts. He often used movie stars to distribute the gifts. The popularity of this holiday quickly spread. Today, is celebrated with loved ones and friends. However, we encourage you to follow the intent of the original holiday, and find ways to give candy and small gifts to those in need. Isn't that the coolest holiday! Well, my DH is definitely the sweetest and this is for him. It's a simple matchbook made from cardstock. I folded and stapled a piece of candy inside about 3/4 inch from one end. Then I decorated the front and covered the staple with a piece of ribbon. OH, so easy and quick. Now, go bless your sweetie and you will be blessed beyond measure. God bless you today!

Another Halloween Treat

This is the cutest little candy wrapper! I know I say that about all of them! This is not my original idea. I made this one with my class at sleepover, but the pattern and idea came from Angie Juda of Chic n' Scratch. I used Crumb Cake for the base and Natural white for the layers. The layers are torn and sponged with Crumb Cake ink, then placed on the base. The eyes are made with the 1/2" punch and a regular size hole punch. The nose is 1/2 of a 1/2" circle. The modern label punch was used to punch the opening to hold the candy. I used Dotto (#103305 pg. 197) to hold it closed. This is a great product ! It is a repositionable adhesive which allows you to move things or open and close them- similar to sticky notes. I told you it was cute! Need help, want to make these? Candy Wrappers and Treat Holders Part1

Here's one of the Halloween candy wrappers we made in my class at Sleepover this past weekend. It is easy peasy! Isn't it cute? The squares are Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizazz and Whisper White. The largest square is 3" x 3 1/4". Cut each square 1/4 inch smaller. The stamp is from the Sweet Centers stamp set (#116521). It is stamped in Concord Crush ink. Frankie in the bottom corner is colored with the Pear Pizazz marker. Adhere the stamped image to the Pear Pizazz piece ,then punch the center out with the 1 3/8 circle punch. In order to make sure you get your hole in the right spot for the back, position the front piece on top and punch through the center. Now place a dimensional in each corner of the front piece. Place your Tootsie Pop in the middle and adhere front to back. Tie a piece of 1/8 in black ribbon on the stick. The circle in the right upper corner is the piece you punched out of the center. I love to go away- you know visiting, vacation, road trip, stamping sleepover- that kind of get away. However, I love to come home too, especially if Tom Terrific didn't get to travel with me! I had a great time at Camp Chandler this weekend with the some old stamping friends and met some new ones. We didn't get much sleep, but we had a fun time stamping and eating and laughing and eating! You have never seen so many yummy snacks in your life. If you think this sounds like fun- the watch for post on our next one in the Spring! We'd love to have you join us. Girls, I am so excited! Okay, it's not a huge big deal, but I participated in a SUDSOL Design Challenge. The leader of the group offered a challenge using these little wheel builders from the Holiday Mini. This was the first time I tried a Design challenge and I actually won. I have to admitt in all fairness- there weren't a lot of entries. SUDSOL is a group of online SU demo's who help each other and share ideas and stuff. Anyway, I won a free week on my membership!Almost anything free is good, not including animals! There is no such thing as a free animal.

This card uses 2 of the mini wheels in the Holiday Mini, Little cardinals and Little Ornaments. I used a spacer between them, to make room for the room and banner. The blue layer is Pacific Point, then basic black. The wheels were done is black craft ink and embossed with Clear embossing powder, then I colored them in with Real Red and Pacific Point markers. The Peace on Earth is from the stamp set Four the Holidays. The Real Red base was also wheeled on with Real Red ink. Gone questions? I'm just an email or phone call away. Good Morning World. It's a beautiful day here in Dixie! I love the Scripture that says, " This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it." It is one of my favorite verses. God made today for today, my responsibility is to rejoice in it! Whatever comes my way and I promise I am getting use to not so great things coming my way lately. However, I am determined to rejoice in today. I am working on projects for Fall Sleepover this weekend. I am really excited about some really cute projects we are doing. Hey Friends, I hope and pray all is well with yall. I am still hobbling, but at least I am able to get around. Nothing profound today! It's a Monday. Tomorrow night my hostess club will be making this card for the upcoming Halloween season. Now, you probably have guessed I'm not a big Halloween fan- but I think this Batty for You stamp set is really cute. It is so versatile! It has 8 stamps that can be used with the 1 3/8 circle punch to make some really cute Fall Holiday projects. This card focuses on circles. I used the 1 3/4 circle punch all the way down to the 1/2 circle punch. The cardstock is Pumpkin Pie, Concord Crush, Pear Pizazz, Basic Black and Whisper White. It sounds almost good enough to eat! Some of the circles are on dimensionals and there is just a little ribbon added. I really like the little pumpkin's saying" You light up this place with that smile on your face." I hope whoever gets this card will smile. Last week we talked about passion, this week why not share your passion with someone. Make a new friend, or mend a broken friendship. Happy Birthday Big Haley from Cadie Bug!

I have the cutest card ever to show you! Of course that is my humble opinion. Jeanna Cable did a how to video of this card. I changed it a very little and made it for Cadiebug to give to Big Haley for her birthday today. Most of you that read my blog know Cadiebug is my 3 yr. old GD, she loves bugs! and all creepy things. Big Haley is her 7 yr. old friend not to be confused with Little Haley, her 3yr. old friend. I have kept Cadie since she was 6 weeks old and kept little Haley for about 2 yrs. Everyone thought they were twins. The concept of two friends with the same name has given Cadie some difficulty, so she started calling her new friend, Big Haley! This card is made using the Big Shot and the large scallop circle, the wide oval punch and several circle punches. I also used the smallest heart from the three heart punch. the wings are added with brads, so they will open. Isn't that the cutest. Good Morning! Well, it's the end of September and we are still experiencing temperatures in the 90's. Cadie is still swimming with her friend "Big Haley" every afternoon. Cadie is 3 and Big Haley is having her 7th birthday party tomorrow, hence the name Big Haley! I have been busy at my crafting table. This is a busy week, Hostess club Tuesday and Fall sleep over Friday and Saturday. We have 19 ladies attending sleepover this year. I can't wait. It will be a blast and the weather is suppose to be perfect. A little cooler and maybe some rain! Lord, we need some rain.

Sticking with the Fall theme colored cards I have a really simple but pretty card to share with you today. Again, I'm using the Autumn Days stamp set #115452). It is just perfect for this time of year. The cardstock is More Mustard, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. Inks are the same colors, except no Vanilla and I used a Pumpkin Pie marker to highlight the pheasant. The Rich Razzleberry piece is stamped with the oak leaf from this set in the same color. This is another great masculine card. Happy Birthday or some other saying could be used in place of Thinking of You. Well, it's that time again, gotta go. I participated in a Chat and Challenge with the Sudsol yahoo group last night. It was my first to attend (online). It was really cool. The challenge was fall colors and ovals. I choose More Mustard, Rich Razzleberry, and Old Olive. The stamp set is Autumn Days. The wheat is stamped in the background with versamark and the pheasant with Rich Razzleberry. Passion 101

The Oxford American Dictionary defines passion as "strong emotion, great enthusiasm for something". The Bible says in Psalm 38:9 (NLT) "You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh." Why is this even important? We are often motivated by our passions, whatever they are. It is important to understand how our passions affect us and how we can use those passions to achieve all God has for us. In my part of the country people are passionate about Football! It dominates most conversations during the season. Much money is spend on tickets, tailgating, apparel, and a host of other stuff to support the team. People go crazy over football. I like football okay, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over a lost game, coach, or player. I tried to make a list of the things that really bring out strong emotions in me, good and bad. It really all boils down to relationships. My relationship with Jesus Christ, my personal Savior, my husband, my children, other family members, friends and even customers from my Stampin' Up! business are what motivate me the most and most often control my decisions. My business does allow me to focus on my other relationships. It offers me the flexibility to put first things first. I love to stamp! It is relaxing and invigorating at the same time. I really love to get comments on the cards I send and to know I touched someone else with a word of encouragement wrapped in a little card I made. I have been very blessed with new relationships and really good friends I would not have met if it hadn't been for my stamping business. For this I am very thankful. One of our Stamp sets that I love is named Inspired by Nature. I used it this week to create this card as a reminder to live each day with passion for the things that are truly important to me. Two days in a row, that hasn't happened in a while. While it is 90 something degrees outside, it is fall and Christmas is 98 days away. So, I'm sitting in my bathing suit creating Christmas cards. Sweet, wonderful Hubby had to go to the office today, so I am alone in the house which doesn't happen very often. I have been looking on the web at several different sites were stampers go to post there creative ideas and others can leave comments. I have some cards on these sites. The statistics tell you how many times your card has been viewed and marked as a favorite by some unknown stamper friend. What struck me today was how excited I got when someone let a small encouraging comment! What I also noticed was several cards that had been viewed alot of times and even placed in a number of "favorites", but no one let a single comment. It was a great reminder to me that I need to be an encourager for someone everyday! Just a kind word goes so far to lift another persons spirit or mood. Who do I encourage each day and who encourages me? Do I appreciate these people? DH and I live alone now. All the kids are "on their own", so Tombo is the person I try to really encourage everyday. He has a difficult job like many people, and doesn't necessarily get a lot of encouraging words at work, but I can change his mood fast when he comes home by just thanking him or encouraging him, his work is not in vain. Another great way for a stampaholic is to send CARDS! Don't you love to get snail mail that is happy? Whose day can you brighten this week by sending a great, made by you card?

The card I am sharing with you today is made out of Night of Navy and Sahara Sand, using the Come to Bethlehem stamp set. This is a great stamp set. It has everything you need for wonderful Christmas cards in this one set. I stamped the image in Night of Navy and sponged around the top note die with Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight. The wording is in Night of Navy and punched out with the modern label punch and a little piece of ribbon added in the top corner. Simple, yet really striking I think. Still Alive, but can't kick too good!

I know some of you think I have passed...(pause) but no I am still kickin' just not so fast or far. The leg is still not back to pre-surgery condition and I stay frustrated at how long it takes me to do everything! Nevertheless, I keep on going as best I can. It has been a hot summer here is the south. I have spent a lot of time in the pool with Cadiebug (precious 3 yr.old granddaughter) and I have been stamping, just not posting! Sorry, I am again trying to correct that problem. Can you believe Christmas is almost here. It's like 99 days til Christmas! I am on a Christmas card binge! I had a Christmas Stamp a stack in August. Here is a card we made that night. The cardstock is Cherry Cobbler, my new favorite red, Marina Mist and Whisper White. Ink: Marina Mist and Cherry Cobbler. Stamp sets: Delightful Decorations, Sparkle and Shine jumbo wheel and Occasional Quotes which is a level 3 hostess set. I used the ornament punch, scallop trim border punch and a little bling with our rhinestones. It is an easy, quick card and I really like it! I hope you do as well. Well, I'm back I hope! It has been a long 4 months and I have not had the energy to keep the blog updated. I had a total Knee replacement in March and ended up staying with my mother until July4th! I have been doing a few things though and I have some cute cards to share with you when I get them uploaded. However, today I thought I'd share a really cute picture of Cadie Bug! Finally, I'm trying to get back to posting regularly. I have been making lots of projects, just not getting them online.The two year old are getting this CeCe a run for her money. They sure do have a lot of energy. On to stamping stuff! I love this project. It is a stationary box that a good friend and very talented designer Vita Patalino created for a swap we did at Leadership this January. It was the hit. Of course as is accustom I have tweaked it a little to make it work for me, but she did all the hard work.

The box and 12 twelve cards are made with Not Quite Navy, Kraft and Very Vanilla Cardstock and Bella Blue DSP. The sentiments are made separately so you can attach one has you need. This really makes the cards very versatile. Hope you like this project. Go bless somebody today and you will receive the bigger blessing.

Hello dear friends and family who happen to visit this site occasionally. You have probably noticed that there have been no post in quite a while. Do not worry I am still alive, however he blog is dying from lack of food for thought! It has not been that I haven't had thoughts to share, there are many, or that I haven't made some really cute projects, I have, it really has boiled sown to time, and energy which both seem to be eluding me lately. Tommy and I had a perfect trip to London and Israel in November. We left the day after my birthday and arrived home late the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Then Christmas was here before I could get unpacked. We have had our share of family drama, illness and injury. I will be having a knee replacement soon. We did get to spend a few days in Panama City with Tommy's family over New Years. Then it was back home and I repacked and left for Phoenix, Arizona for Stampin Up's Annual Leadership Conference and a Regional Seminar. It was a great trip and I really plan on working hard this year so I can go again next year. I have set a goal to be better about posting projects so please don't give up. Keep an eye out and hold me accountable.

More Halloween samples

For someone who is not a great big Halloween fan I seem to have created several cards this year for those of you who are. This is the second Halloween card we made during my Holiday card stamp a stack last month. I love the film strip design on this card. I use it often. The card is on a black base with Dusty Durango layered on top and made to look stitched, the "film strip" is made using the spiral punch down both sides. The other punches used are the 1 1/4 square punch and the 1 1/4 circle punch. The stamp set is a great one for this holiday "Batty for You" (p. 23 item # 116576). Lately, it seems to be my post all start with "it's been a while". Life just has a way of getting in the way of my plans! In the last few weeks, we have had a major flood at my mother's house, a minor water problem at my house that required all my beautiful bamboo flooring to be removed, we have inherited a house guest with baby (since first week in August), and moved our daughter Jennifer from her rental house into my mom's house. Needless to say, it has been wild, busy, somewhat emotional ( Tommy and I laid that floor, every board, ourselves. It was our 25th wedding anniversary present to each other) and draining. I have eeked out a little stamping time for my stamp a stack and hostess club, but am very far behind on projects I need to plan and want to try myself. I am reminded of a song Ernie Hauss sings "What a difference a day makes..." This is true!! I hope and pray your coming days are productive and enjoyable. There is a proverb in Scripture that says, "The rain falls on the just and the unjust" So our job is to deal, keep going, pull up your big girl panties and move on! Continue to bless others and you will be continually blessed!

Dog Days of Summer

Hi y'all . I hope everyone is doing fine. I am amazed at how beautiful the weather has been this August. Here in Dixie August is usually a really miserable month. Hot, Humid, Hot, Humid, did I say HOT? Well, this August has been very pleasant, almost fall-like which is just weird for us. We normally swim in our pool a lot in August. The water has actually been a little chilly this month! Well, all that to say I am getting in the mood for fall. School has started already and I'm ready for the next season to follow. Actually it's only like a 120 days til Christmas! Let me get back to the next holiday. Halloween is not one of those days we really get all excited about. However, with grandbabies running around and fall Festivals getting ready to abound I included a couple of Halloween cards in this months Stamp a Stack. I hope you like them. I think they are really cute! The base of this cards is Whisper White cardstock. The next layer is Only Orange cardstock that was crumbled, then straightened and ink to paper technique done with basic black ink. The spider is made with the scallop punch and the photo corners punch using black and lovely lavender cardstock. The sentiment Happy Halloween is from Tiny Teeny Wishes, a great set to have. It is punched with the window punch and layered on the modern label punch. This is really a quick and simple card.

My friend Karen has a very funny and thought-provoking blog. It's called My Points in Time. She is a very gifted writer and I encouraged her to start writing a blog. Well, this week she made her 100th post! She has not had this blog for very long, so I am very impressed. If you need a good laugh or something to ponder check out Karen's blog. You'll be glad you did. I, on the other hand, am not so prolific. But I am on my way to 100. So stay in touch and keep coming back. I'll have to offer blog candy for my 100th posting! The Enjoy Life stamp set has proved to be very versatile in card making and scrapbooking.

I can't believe I haven't even looked at my blog for 2 weeks. I was in Salt Lake City for a few days for the Stampin' Up Convention! which by the way was a blast. However, that is no excuse for getting so far behind. I have a ton of things to share with yall. I also received a special gift from my daughter, Lee. Before I left for SLC she gave me a new camera! It was really sweet and thoughtful. It's a Sony Cybershot. I have no idea how to use it aside from the point and click technique! So, I have lots of pictures on the camera to share that I haven't managed to download to the computer yet. No more excuses.

I apologize for the sweet followers who have returned here to see the directions for the Sweet Treats I posted during the amazing blog tour. It was a blast and I hope you riders had as much fun as I did participating. I am getting ready to go to Salt Lake City for the Stampin' Up! Convention. This will be my first convention and I am so excited. A lot to get done. So, if yall will give me a break, I promise to get the directions posted as soon as I can. I can't say Thank You enough for all who were involved with the blog tour. It was a great learning experience for me. Thank you Lucia for all your wisdom, to Jan for your encouragement right from the start and Stephanie for your computer skills of which I have almost none. But, most of all, thank you to all the riders who left such encouraging and thoughtful comments. It really made my day to sit and read your opinions, it was a great confidence booster for me.

Hey Yall! I hope everybody is having a great summer. I am running around like my Nana use to say "Like a chicken with it's head cut off"! Not a pretty sight! There are so many exciting things happening. Don't forget the Royal Blog Tour starts in 3 days. It will run the 26, 27 and 28th of July. I am so excited to be part of this tour. So check back on Sunday and take the ride. Lots of blog candy to be given away. Stampin' Up's annual convention is in just 2 weeks. This is my first convention, first time to Salt Lake City and I am terribly excited. I'm sure I'll have tons and tons of new and excited ideas to share when I return. And finally I have 3 really cute cards to share. Several months ago our unit made punch art books. One of the pages was small Sesame Street characters, so I got the idea to enlarge them and make a gift card holder. I used the large Scallop die for the Big Shot and folded my paper over then placed it slightly short on the folded side. then I cut a second scallop, cut it in half and made a pocket for a gift card. Aren't they really cute? The card stock colors are Real Red, Brilliant Blue and Yo Yo Yellow.( I tried it in yellow, you can't read it.) I used circle punches for eyes and noses and oval for Big Bird's Beak. I just love these. Great for a card or to embellish a scrapbook page. the Big shot is really very versatile. I will be hostessing a big shot club and series of classes the first of the year. Let me know if you are interested. Well, I better get busy. Another Day

Do you remember the old song,"Time keeps slipping, slipping into the future..." Boy, am I experiencing that, it has been quite a week. My mother is on a trip with a good friend out west and a cruise through the inland passage of Alaska. Last week her house flooded, so I have had to deal with that, I am working hard to get ready for the upcoming Royal Blog Tour and getting ready for a shoebox swap with the other demo's in our area. Can you say busy? The house is a mess, oh yeah, Tommy has been "down in his back", which is a really good reminder to appreciate him for all he does for me! All that to say, I have not been very good about posting this week. Most of the projects I am working on are for the Blog Tour. Can't show those yet, but here is my swap for tomorrow nights shoebox swap. I really like it. I used the new designer series paper Thoroughly Modern. It is so cool. I used the polka dot Soft Suede ribbon and stamp set Thoughts and Prayers and Fifth Avenue Floral. These are both great sets. Hope you like this card. Isn't this just the prettiest paper? I made this gift card holder yesterday out of a piece of DSP called Pink Flamingo. It makes me think of fun in the Florida sun in the summer. I felt the blog needed a face lift (don't we all) so I hunted around on the Internet and found this free site with backgrounds. I love the daises, they are one of my favorite flowers. It's still a work in progress. I'm sprucing up for the Royal blog tour the end of July. I am really excited to be apart of this great group of ladies. They are so encouraging. Speaking of updates. This is more of a reminder. Today is the last day to sign up for the DSP Stationary set Class scheduled for Thursday, June 25th at 6:30 at the Ink SPoT. The Rest of the Story

Ah, don't you just miss Paul Harvey, "Now for the rest of the story". Well, here is the rest of my last post. I am still struggling with getting pictures to do what I want. Yesterday I even played with the Html code. That didn't help! I had a couple more pictures of the girls and a card I made for them. I am trying to get my last fix on the retiring colors. I have really loved them this year. Since, we were talking about "my little fishes" I made a card with the Just Beachy stamp set. I really like this set. Simple card -the white cardstock is wheeled with See you around jumbo wheel which is retiring this year, then I used a piece of DSP in Pacific Blue. The Hugs and Kisses stamp is embossed with white embossing powder, the fish and Popsicle are colored with a blender pen using Tangerine Tango and Baja Breeze classic ink! Okay, half the month is over. There are only 14 days left to place an order off the Last Chance List, don't want to long you don't want to miss out on that favorite stamp set that is moving to Stampers Paradise or maybe Florida! Hi Girls, It has been a great day here in Dixieland. Hot, Hot, Hot! They are predicitng 100 degree temps tomorrow and Thursday and it "ain't even summer yet!" Me and the Future Stampers of America (Cadie and Haley, 2 yrs.old now) have been spending alot of time in the pool. "Wimm, CeCe wimm" is Cadie's first sentence when she arrives each morning about 7:30. And after breakfast wimm we do. They look like little fish, or maybe turtles! So, I am showing yall pictures to day! Also, as you can see I have been crowned and I am really excited!!!! The banner is not there yet, but hopefully before long. This is Cadie. Exciting Day!

Good afternoon ladies! I had hoped to be saying good morning but that didn't happen. Today is an exciting day for a couple of reasons for me. First, Michelle Laycock of Laycock designs is working on a new banner for my blog. I am very excited about this. I have worked on this for some time and have admitted total defeat! Michelle's work is beautiful and I am thrilled to have her design my new banner. You can see her gallery here. Also, I am being crowned a princess! That should also be happening today! You will need to keep checking back to see the results of these two events. I can't wait!!!! I have a DSP stationary set to show yall. I am doing a stamp camp June 25 at the INK SPoT teaching how to make these great little gifts. This one was for one of my daughter,Lee's friends for graduation. Therefore, it held mostly thank-you notes. I learned to make these from Angie Juda of Chic n' Scratch. They are really cute and easy too! This one uses the textured DSP Slumber Party which is retiring at the end of June. Don't miss it.Better run, Love yall and be blessed by blessing others around you!

Cute Little Treat Bag

Any one who knows me, knows I love to give out treats, i.e. warm fuzzies, happys, unexpected goodies. My youngest daughter's friends growing up called me "Treat Mommy". Probably not the most acclaimed title. Well, paper crafting and stamping serve me well in this role. Here is an example of the cutest little treat holder. It will hold 2 Ghirardelli chocolates, and a handful of Kisses, M&M'S, Reese's pieces, you get the idea. I really love that it is made out of a 5.5 x 4.25 piece of cardstock. Then it only takes scraps of DSP and ribbon to embellish the front and back. Very quick and easy. This one is made from the In Color Baja Breeze which is retiring in just a couple of weeks, so if you want some, place and online order quickly of call or email me by this Saturday as I will be placing an order Saturday evening on Sunday. An Old Favorite Retires

Heartfelt Thanks is retiring this year. It has been a part of the Demo Kit since before I became a part of this wonderful family of friends. Finally, here are the pictures I promised. This is the announcements I made for Lee. They are in Elegant Eggplant and natural white. The stamp set is retired, but the only graduation one I had available. This card is called a gate-fold card because of the way it opens in the middle. The second picture shows it closed. Tommy and I are pleased to announce the graduation of our last child, Elizabeth Leigh Waldroff from Evangel Family Christian Academy. This is really a cover school, required in our state, for our 13 yrs. of home training. I have an announcement card I made and pictures from Saturday's ceremonies, I just do not have time or energy to get them on the computer tonight. So, I'll get them here asap. We are very proud of Lee and her desire to serve others. Her plan is to enter the US Coast Guard this fall. As we say here in Dixie, "God willin' and the Creek don't rise", we'll see her off in September. Just a couple more hurdles to jump! Random Act of Kindness. Isn't that a great concept. To do something nice, unexpected for someone with no reason, no underlying motive other than just to show kindness. Well, I love the idea. I even joined a RAK Team. So, this is my challenge to yall- Do 1 RAK a week- for anyone you chose, but make sure you have no ulterior motive. This is not a way to make brownie points with the boss or a co-worker; this is a purely "let me brighten you day" act. And what better way than to send a hand-stamped, created by you card? That is what this card was. I made this card for a friend in my Sunday School class. She has a lot on her plate. I don't know her real well, but watch her share the love for Jesus every week through her life. By now, you know how much I love Parisian Breeze and am trying to use every piece of it before the new cattie comes out. This card was made with scraps of DSP and punches. I used the 1 3/8 circle punch, the square punch, the round-tab punch, the scallop square, the window word punch and the eyelet border punch to make the purses. the purses were fashioned after some I made for a punch art book with my upline several months ago. Also the ribbon is from the Valet set of specialty ribbons.It's really very pretty. Well better run. Praying for you a great day. Count your blessings and bless someone in your path today.

Hey, Hope y'all are having a great day. It was beautiful here in Dixieland- bright and sunny, not too hot. We enjoyed being outside a good part of the day. I love all the trees and flowers blooming pretty colors. Just like this DSP everything is "sproutin"! This card is one we made in my hostess club this month. Simple, Simple, Simple. The base is a piece of 5.5 x 4.25 basic gray cardstock with a 5.25 x 8 piece of whisper white that is actually the card adhered on top. Then, I added a piece of DSP, gray taffeta ribbon and the elegant thank you from the Under 10.00 page in the catalog. the thank you is punched out with the scallop square punch. then to get the layer behind it, I actually cut 2 scallops, cut them in half, and layered them around the 4 sides. Pretty neat, huh? My upline Angie, showed my that trick. Anyway, you are probably wondering so why is the title of this post "Surprised"? Well, I made a deal with my hostess club ladies, if they can not attend a club meeting but they turn their order in on time, I make their projects for them. Last night while making the cards I needed for the absentees this month, I realized I was out of this beautiful piece of DSP from Walk in the Park. I already had the gray backgrounds cut, so I'm searching around the craft room for another piece of paper and I turn over this scrap and got WOW! I think this will look great. So some of my southern belles are getting this card instead. They will be surprised, but really I was surprised at how much I liked this combination. I hope you like it too. Challenges

Hi Yall! Today I took a challenge. I am a member of several yahoo and stamping groups online. Most of these groups post weekly or monthly card challenges (or scrapbook pages). Well, today I jumped into a new group and took their challenge to make a masculine card. I have very few stamp sets that you would say look masculine, so I fell back on an old trusty one. This truck is from "Loads of Love", it came in my new demo kit when I signed up to do what I really love to do. You guessed it- Share stamping with other people. The cardstock is Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and the DSP is Parisian Breeze. The "Happy Father's Day" stamp is from the set "All Holidays". It is a great set of greetings. Oh, the little flags are from "Sock Monkey". The truck was stamped, cut out and the tires colored with gray ink. Then I added the large silver brads for the hub cabs. The little piece of ribbon is from the "Valet" ribbon originals. The truck is popped up on stampin' dimensional, one of my favorite products. The real challenge for me was to get this done, photographed, and posted at Late Night Stampers while the Future Stampers of America (2 yr. grand baby Cadence and her friend Haley) took a nap! Happy Mother's Day, I know I did! This is my youngest daughter Lee. She will be graduating in a couple of weeks from high school. Lee is good at a lot of things, but stamping is not one of her favorite things to do, so I was tickled pink she made this Mother's day card for me. I don't use these colors in my stamping that often, but they are the mainstay of my clothes, so I think she "figured" they were my favorites.

Yesterday was also my oldest child's, Josh, 24th birthday. I was thrilled to get him for Mother's Day and his birthday. Josh is a police officer with the MPD. We are very proud of him. I have one more picture to share. It is the card I made my Mom. I used my favorite Baja Breeze and Parisian Breeze DSP with the Fifth Avenue Floral rose and the Ribbon originals called Valet (page 178) I love this ribbon, of course it coordinates with Parisian Breeze beautifully. I think she really liked the card. It is a lot like the ones I made for my MIL for her birthday. I damped the cardstock the rose is stamped on and separated to give it a lighter feel. Wedding Season

Spring is in the air, in our neck of the woods this week that means rain. Now I'm not complaining because the last few years we have had problems with not enough rain. But some places got 11 inches today and there are a lot of roads closed and people's homes flooded. We live on a ridge, if we get flooded everyone needs a boat! Anyway, back to spring, especially in the south means, "Get out your calenders there are weddings to attend!" We already have 5 on the calender and two are the same day and same time only 200 miles apart. Here is the card I made for one of these weddings. I think this is a great card. My upline Angie demoed it at her Big Shot Club Class. Since then I have seen it on several blogs- all that to say "it ain't my idea" but I think it is beautiful whoever came up with it. On this one I used Night of Navy cardstock and vellum. The vellum was run through the Big Shot with the Manhattan embossing plate( item #114517). I cut around the flowers at the top and used snail adhesive to stick it down along the side. The Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon hides the snail. I used the Cherish stamp out of "Warm Words" (item #115108) and embossed it with white embossing powder and viola - a really cool wedding card in a jiffy. Speaking of weddings a must read, I mean, MUST read, especially if you are the mother of a daughter in the south, is Gayden Metcalfe and Charlotte Hays book, Somebody is Going to Die If Lilly Beth Doesn't Catch that Bouquet : The Official Southern Ladies' Guide to Hosting the Perfect Wedding. I love a party! so I'll take any reason to celebrate. Have a great Cinco de Mayo! I am sharing a card set with yall today I made a couple of weeks ago while in St. Augustine. It was a real challenge, as I have mentioned, because I took very limited supplies. I made two purse boxes with cards, one with Baja Breeze and Parisian Breeze and the other with Riding Hood Red and Candy Lane DSP. I used Nancy Horn's instructions from the SU website, but had to make little changes since I didn't have everything with me she used. The Parisian Breeze set I have already shown yall so here is the Riding Hood Red Se. I am really going to miss this years "In Colors", they have truly been some of my favorite. Secret Weapon

I have a secret weapon that I pull out from time to time when I am in a pinch. I have a real problem with procrastination! I am always planning on getting things done before I need them, but usually those plans are in vain and at the last minute I an scrabbling to finish a project, prepare for a workshop or even clean my cave. This was no different 2 weeks ago while vacationing in St. Augustine. I had planned on seeing two friends I had not visited with in some time (years). Of course being the obsessive stamper I am I wanted to take them each a set of cards or some little gift. I ended up taking one cart of supplies and staying up late into the night making these little treats. On Sunday night I was really tired, so I called on my secret weapon and to the rescue HE came. Yes, my secret weapon is the DH Tommy, i.e. Tombo, Tom Terrific, and occasionally WILLIAM THOMAS! He is a great husband and wonderful man. He has helped with cutting cardstock, scoring, stuffing envies, for classes and swaps. In this picture he is punching holes for brads in another card purse box. I'll show more pictures of the box and cards later, this post is to honor him, my DH of 27 years this month. Thank you Honey and I love you! Cadie's 2!!!!

Happy Birthday, Cadence Mari! Cadie, for short, turned 2 today. It doesn't seem possible. They grow so fast. She is a doll and her Nana Cece loves her to death. We went to the park to feed the ducks and play on the playground with Haley and a new friend Mila. Then we went to Chick-fil-a for more playground time, lunch and a couple of presents. "Thank you Haley for the baby with the potty that really flushes!!!" Being a proud Nana I have to share pictures with yall. I have also included her Birthday card I made for her. I used Whisper white and Pretty in Pink and the cupcake from "Crazy for Cupcakes" I added another candle since she is 2. We are having a cupcake and Minnie Mouse themed birthday party so I stamped the "seeing spots" circles to look like pink Minnie Mouses without the bow on the background of the card. Viola! Cute card. Real Neat Project

I made this really neat note pad tin project for a friend of mine to give as a gift. I want to show it to yall because I think it is so CUTE! My disclaimer is I am afraid to say most of the DSP and Stamp sets used in this project are retired!!!! This is bad I know (again with BAD Blogger) however, the idea can be done using current products. Sometimes I just need to use my "old favorites". A word to the wise New cattie will appear July 1st. There will be one of your favorite sets retiring ( I have no knowledge of that just guessing) I will post the retiring sets as soon as it is published, I think that will be June. If there is a set you really like you'll have time to get it before it goes to the great rubber stamp pile in Heaven. Now, look at this thing. It's a DVD tin. I covered with DSP and put a magnetic memo pad and pen on one side and a pocket with bookmark paper clip and tiny sticky notes on the other side. I do apologize for being a "Bad Blogger" I just run out of time. So please, be patient and keep coming back, I'll get better, I promise. Tommy and I just returned from 5 glorious days in

St. Augustine, FL. We took Daughter Lee, who is graduating from High School next month and our older daughter, Jen's, daughter, Cadie, with us. I am sure that is way too many comma's in that last sentence, not to mention confusing, but try to keep up. Cadie will be 2 this week. It really was a great trip and both girls were really good!. We saw old friends and enjoyed some quite time by the pool. We visited the old Spanish fort, the Castillos de San Marcos and some other historical sites. I even had fun doing some late night stamping!!! I took a very, very, very, limited supply of products and was very challenged to see what I could make with what I had. I mean -2 ink pads, Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze, that was it! it was really quite fun. Here are pictures of one of the projects I made. The basic idea can from Nancy Horn's, One Sheet Wonder Tote and card class posted on the Stampin' Up! website. Thank you Nancy! I love this idea. I didn't have all the stamps she used so I made some slight changes. On this one I used Parisian Breeze DSP( my absolute fav), Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze cardstock and ink. Well , I was thinking about the card I have to share with yall today and I do love it. Isn't it amazing how we use the same word to really mean so many different things. I love this card, it is really one of my favorites of late, but that does not compare to I love my husband, Tombo ;), or my grand babies, or even chocolate. I guess we have really over used the word love and it has been somewhat watered down in the English language. Of course at this time of year you can't help but think of real love, God's love for us, the love that lead Jesus the lamb to die for you and for me- NOW that is LOVE. So in reality, maybe I just really like this card and Chocolate, but I do LOVE Tombo Terrific and Cadie Mari who will be two in a couple of weeks. This thank you card was very simple. Riding Hood Red and Kiwi kiss cardstock with Bella Rose DSP. I used the new eyelet punch that I like a lot and kiwi kiss satin ribbon with a brad. Hope you like it too. I'm in Therapy

Hey Yall! It is a beautiful day. The sun always comes out after the rain. Yesterday I scrap booked with a group of friends who have come to mean the world to me. They are my therapy. We laugh a lot, at ourselves and each other, we share our lives, the good, the bad and the ugly, we cry with each other and rejoice with each other and get a little scrap booking done on the side. The neatest thing to me is that I probably would have never met any of these ladies if it had not been for scrap booking. This has really and truly been a TREMENDOUS blessing from God in my life. It is so much fun to look back at photo's and remember those events, how the kids looked, how young we looked (as you can tell I am always years behind in my scrap booking), to remember friends who have moved away and love ones who have move on in their journeys.I really believe scrap booking is a very creative therapy, so if you need some therapy drop me a line or give me a call and let's get you started making memories.

After all that I should be showing you a scrapbook page, but I have a couple of cards I like to share with yall. These two came from the ones I made for Karen for her birthday. I used the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set for the flower one and Bella Rose DSP for the Birthday Wishes card. The edge on the Rose card is done with the eyelet border punch. Recently, I showed yall any envelope I made for a gift card holder, well, here is the gift card holder that went in it. The cardstock is Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette, the stamp set "Crazy about Cupcakes", my favorite part is the little green button. It is tied with a gold cord and helps hold the card closed. The neatest part is the button goes through the hole punched in the envelope to help hold it together. I love this idea. Also, don't you love that eyelet punch on the edge? I think this is one of my new favorite things!

I'm loving the weather this week. It has been hard to get anything done. I want to be outside. It's beautiful, flowers blooming, birds chirping, a reminder that Our Heavenly Father is still in control. Seasons come and they go in all areas of our lives. I came up with the best idea!!!!

I am so excited about the envelope I am about to show you. I came up with the original design last Friday night,well really Saturday morning about 3am. I had made a birthday gift card for my mother-in-law and needed an irregular size envie to put it in. I just folded a scrap piece of DSP to cover the card. Then I thought I would add the eyelet punch to the edge (new favorite punch). The card is a little thick and there is a flower button on it, so I was contemplating a closure when it occurred to me I could punch a circle using the 1/2 inch punch where the button was and pull the button through the punched hole! It worked great. The DSP is Candy Lane. The bird on the outside is from that paper also. The second picture is "anyone just like the other one", I made this one for my friend, Karen, who if she is reading this is pulling her teeth out as I massacre the English language. On Karen's I used a larger button and a cupcake stamped from Crazy for Cupcakes. I hope you like this idea. I was tickled to actually come up with the idea all by myself. Another Happy Birthday

Good Morning. It's Monday, it's raining, the babies ( really they're toddlers now) are energetic, and I'm pooped. We ran, literally, down to Panama City Saturday morning for Granny's, aka Tommy's mom, Mary Waldroff, 75th birthday party. It was a very nice affair at Captain Anderson's on the beach in P.C. All 6 children, their 5 spouses, 14 of the 16 grandchildren and all 4 great grand kids were there. Cadie and Kelli, our grand girls made the trip with us along with our daughter, Jennifer. We were there less than 24 hrs. Our son Josh and his girlfriend Dusti were even able to make it. It was something to have us all together. That has not happened since Cadie has been born. ON to stamping news, I made these really pretty cards for Granny, if I don't say so myself. The base is chocolate chip, with DSP candylane, pink pirouette, and whisper white. The ink is brown, the stamp is is one of my new favorites called Fifth Avenue Floral (p.106). The large flower I stamped on pink pirouette colored it with red rose watercolor crayon and blended it with an aqua painter. Then I separated the cardstock. It gives the flower a airy feel. My wonderful mentor, Angie Brasilford, showed this technique at her stamp camp last weekend. I was really happy with the cards. The picture is not great, I'm still working on that detail!
